SD split plummer block housings
A split housing for heavy loads, with a labyrinth seal as standard and stronger GG 25 iron.
Series SD 30.. and SD 31.. are split housings for spherical roller bearings on an adapter sleeve. They come with labyrinth seals as standard; where the shaft ends inside, a grey cast iron end cover is fitted.
To fit the labyrinth onto the shaft, a Perbunan cord is laid between the shaft and the labyrinth ring. It seals and lets the ring move axially as the shaft expands with heat.
Series SD 5.. are supplied with double felt seals as standard; a labyrinth is an option there.
The bolts joining the upper and lower parts are class 8.8. With an angled load, check not only the housing but those bolts and the holding-down bolts too.
SDI is the newer version of the same design: a stiffer body, marked points for sensors and a bearing-centre mark that makes fitting easier.
