This needle roller cage assembly consists of needle rollers guided in a cage, without an inner or outer ring, designed to run directly on a hardened and ground shaft and housing bore. Dimensions are 12 mm bore, 17 mm outside diameter, and 13.0 mm width, with a net mass of 5.2 g. The TV cage design guides the rollers and keeps them evenly spaced around the raceway. Limiting speed is rated at 26500 1/min, with a reference speed of 18800 1/min. The absence of inner and outer rings allows the smallest possible radial section for a given load capacity, making this design suitable where radial space is limited and the shaft and housing surfaces can serve as raceways. Running accuracy and radial internal clearance depend on the mating shaft and housing tolerances selected during assembly. As with open needle roller cage assemblies, lubrication must be supplied externally, either by grease or oil, and adequate sealing should be provided at the application to keep contamination away from the raceway surfaces.
