The drawn cup is press-fitted into the housing bore, which must be machined to act as the outer raceway support, while the shaft serves as the inner raceway. The open ends leave the rolling elements accessible from both sides, so lubricant reaches the needles from the adjacent space. Dimensionally and structurally interchangeable with SKF HK2538.
